Beguiling Briley by Allie Standifer

Book three in the Club Botticelli Series

Beware, sexy curves ahead.

Briley knows love exists. She just doesn’t want it touching any part of her well-ordered life. Until her computer blinks the blue screen of death and flips her life out of control. She’s forced to Carter Moore’s computer shop, where she starts drooling over the back of his neck without bothering to see the front of him.

Carter knows Briley’s different from every other woman. She’s smart, funny and has more luscious curves than a fun house. Curves he can’t wait to get his hands, tongue and other body parts on. He’s head over heels in love with the sexy business owner. Unfortunately Briley’s resistant to his honesty, so Carter needs to come up with another way to start Beguiling Briley.

This is not the first Allie Standifer book I’ve read and I’m sure it will not be the last because I absolutely adore this author’s voice. It’s sophisticated, sexy and in Beguiling Brileyoff-the-scale witty. There were times I was laughing out loud and others times I was shaking my head in sheer admiration of the snappy, on-the-mark dialogue.

The plot flows well, had me wondering what was going to happen next, and the characters are simply divine. It’s clear the Ms Standifer falls for all of her alpha men as the descriptions of them are exquisitely detailed making it impossible for the reader to not be swept off her feet by them. Phew!

There were so many, but I have limited myself so I don’t give anything away.

“Reciting Shakespeare couldn’t turn her on as fast as a well-timed thrust.”

“I’ve heard of a spell that will make his cock smell like old shoes then cover it with red pus-y boils. No woman in her right mind would get next to a man like that.”

“Oh crap, Carter was trapped in a nightmare with She-Ra the princess of attitude and Looney the Loser, meth head.”

“She was lovely and smelled incredible. Like moonlight walks on a deserted beach.” – I want that perfume!

“Besides with eye candy as yummy as Carter to distract her, modern medicine didn’t stand a chance. She had a more horizontal prescription in mind.”

“The man made geek look like the new Adonis.”

“As a rule, she didn’t give blow jobs. They were generally messy and all one-sided in the pleasure department. Besides, they didn’t call them jobs for nothing.”

If you are in the mood for a sexy, witty read, full of great characters – because the secondary characters really are more than secondary in this book, they are so vibrant and alive – then Beguiling Briley shouldn’t be missed. A great story line, kick-ass, smart-mouthed banter, and sex that steams from the page. All boxes ticked in my opinion.

I'm blushing & thrilled you like my characters as much as I do. Just wait until you get a glimpse of what Trinity & Recee are up to and who they're doing it with :)
