Interview: DC Juris

Please welcome DC Juris to Miz Love, everyone! Fabulous author!

Welcome, love! Let's get down to business! How long have you been writing?

I've been writing since I could pick up a pencil. I wrote my first story on the walls of my bedroom.

Oooh, how cute is that? What prompted you to start writing?

There wasn't any one, specific thing that prompted me. I've just always felt the calling.

Ah, that's cool. It's bone-deep. I like that. How often do you write?

Every day!

Excellent! This has pleased us here. We love your work. Where do you get your ideas from?

I don't get inspiration from things like most authors. My characters just walk up to me in my head and ask if I have time to chat.

Hey, that's great! What part of the publishing process do you like the best?

It's all fun! I like going back and forth over edits, hammering out cover art, and of course, seeing the final product!

How do you feel when you receive your covers?

I'm usually pretty thrilled with my book covers. I've been lucky to work with some fabulous artists who really listen.

That's nice to hear. On another note, are you anxious about reviews?

Not really. Reviews are opinions - not everyone is going to like what I write, but that doesn’t invalidate me or my work. After all, I've never really understood what all the fuss over Stephen King was about, but tons of people adore him.

That's a brilliant way of looking at it, that it doesn't invalidate your work. Very true indeed. Which genre are you most comfortable writing?

I'm most comfortable writing contemporary or fantasy m/m romance.

*Rubs hands together and says: That's good news for us!* Are there any you have yet to try?

I haven't done a historical, frankly because the sheer amount of research scares me.

Yes, it can be rather daunting. What works do you have in store for us lucky readers in the future?

I've got a couple sequels in the works, and you'll see some vampire lovin' from me as well this year.

Oooh, vampires! Be sure to send it our way, because we'll want to read that. If you could go anywhere, any time, and money was no object, where would you go, why, and who with?

I'd probably just take my hubby on a nice romantic honeymoon (since we never had one) to someplace not too hot but not too cold, and pay someone to watch our furbabies.

Aww, that sounds lovely. I hope you manage to do that someday. Well, it's been really fun having you here, and I hope you come back again soon. Thanks for guesting with us, we appreciate it!
