Interview: Vee Michaels

Hiya, Vee! Welcome to Miz Love! How long have you been writing?

I began my foray into fiction in 2004.

What prompted you to start writing?

A relentless creative streak and the desire to work from home after I started a family.

How often do you write?

Almost every day. If a go a few days without writing, I get grumpy. I also read ALL the time.

Where do you get your ideas from?

Everywhere. My own crazy brain, my kids, books I read, people I talk to, etc, etc.

What part of the publishing process do you like the best?

Editing. I like seeing editor's thoughts. I learn a lot from the process and I think it's the best tool for becoming a better writer.

How do you feel when you receive your covers?

Sometimes elated, sometimes disappointed and sometimes in between.

Are you anxious about reviews?

I've been a reviewer myself and have reviewed over 300 books. I realize people's tastes are different and, knowing I have no control over what the reviewers think, I toss my hands in the air and hope for the best. Some of the reviews I've received are very flattering. I am very grateful for every review and thankful for the process.

Which genre are you most comfortable writing?

Erotica or romantica, followed by contemporary romantic suspense or mystery. I've written children's stories as well and have an American Historical Trilogy in the works.

Are there any you have yet to try?

Sure! I don't like literary work that is depressing. I have yet to write horror (but I do have a book plotted out.)

What works do you have in store for us lucky readers in the future?

I am working on a series which I've yet to pitch (so I can't dish too much). Suffice to say, it'll be playful, erotic short stories woven together with a central theme.

If you could go anywhere, any time, and money was no object, where would you go, why, and who with?

I would travel through space or into the depths of the ocean. I love unexplored places! I'd take my hubby and kidlets for sure and maybe Elvis Presley.

LOL @ Elvis! Thanks so much for being with us here today, Vee. It’s been a pleasure having you!
